I marked flow lines as I started to further define the flow on the left raven wing.

The robins were tricky because I wanted to have two robins mixed in with air currents coming off the raven all in the same area. When carving, once the wood is gone, it’s gone. So when I’m not sure what I might do, I often make a quick sketch in clay. The clay model of a robin showed me in three dimensions what I needed.

With a general idea of where I was going, started removing wood around the robins and air currents.
